Lokla began with a moment of desperation as a mum trying to keep my 18-month-old away from the toilet brush.

I searched for a solution, but couldn’t find anything that felt safe, or something I actually wanted in my home.
So, I decided to create one.

I’ve always considered myself a creative person, but with no background in product design, I set out to design something I felt was missing - a child-resistant essential that didn’t compromise on style. In the early days, it was sketches, conversations with friends, and a quiet belief that maybe I was onto something.

It mattered deeply to me that this wasn’t just functional, but something parents would feel good about owning. Because so often, making a home safer means hiding things away, moving vases, lifting photo frames, rethinking the way we live in our own spaces.
I wanted to challenge that.

Lokla is about creating thoughtful, design-led pieces that not only protect our homes, but elevate them.
